A LEAP Year Ball at Formby Hall Golf Club raised £7,330 for blind and partially-sighted children.

The black tie event – attended by many prominent Southport business people and their guests – included a champagne reception, four-course meal, auction and dancing to jazz band Ipso Facto.

Southport’s Drayton House Clinic sponsored the event, and proceeds will go to Henshaws Society for Blind People’s Children & Families Service.

The service helps blind and visually-impaired children, their siblings and parents. It also has a state-of-the-art Sunshine Centre with large family room, soft play area, toy library and multi-sensory room.

Ball organiser Joanna Jones said: “I would like to thank Drayton House Clinic, the ball committee members, volunteers and everyone who contributed to the event to raise so much money for such a worthwhile cause.”
