ANIMAL Defenders International will mark 'International Primate Day' on September 1.
The group's Sefton representative, Yvonne Bennett de Rothschild, said: "This year the theme is a call for a ban of the use of primates in research."
The Waterloo resident added: "What is so shocking is the fact that the UK is Europe's biggest user of primates in experiments. It is obvious that primates are related to us, there is no doubt they can know fear, pain and suffering like us."
The Sefton group is always looking for new members - to find out details, call Yvonne on 476 0325 in the evening and at weekends.
