TWO Crosby-based dancers are going head-to-head in the BBC's Strictly Dance Fever series. Former Manor High pupil Rob Glover, 18, has been paired with a dancer from Glasgow, while former Sacred Heart pupil Clare Roberts has teamed up with someone from Cardiff. Each week they will face the public vote until only one couple remains. The dancers are staying at a mansion in London throughout the contest and are only allowed one phone call a day. Rob's mum Sheila said: "Robert's been dancing since he was nine. There's a dancing tradition in the family as my dad Owen Williams is a line dancing instructor. "Robert rang me to to say they've had a photo shoot, hair and make-up and the mansion's fantastic. "He's very confident. His partner is Dawn Nelson from Glasgow. "They were partnered by the BBC on the last day of the audition and are hitting it off well together." Liverpool University graduate Clare, 24, learnt all her steps from experienced dance teacher Margaret Redmond at Crown Buildings, Her cousin Jane Comyns said: "The family are very proud of Clare. All the mobiles are ready to go when we get the chance to vote." Her original partner got knocked out and she's now paired with Stewart Mills from Cardiff. Her mum Pauline said: "Clare's worked very hard and deserves it. She's been in touch to tell us how she's getting on.. "Clare's giving it 110 per cent and hopefully she'll be successful." Strictly Dance Fever is on BBC ONE at 6.10pm and 9.25pm this Saturday. Crosby village. |
