A PARTIALLY sighted boy sparked a panic when he went missing before watching a nativity play on Saturday.
The 12-year-old Crosby boy was separated from the group of friends he was with, while watching the church-organised performance on Crosby beach.
Organisers say more than 5,000 people attended the four performances of the play over Friday and Saturday.
The nativity play, scheduled to start at 6pm, was delayed half an hour to allow police and coastguards to search for the boy.
The coastguard said that the police helicopter had swept the beach looking for the boy.

When the coastguards beach patrols were satisfied he was not on the sands the performance went ahead.
The boy was later found at an aunt's house in Crosby at around 9pm.
Play organiser Annie Spiers said she was relieved the boy had been found safe and well.
She said: "We delayed the performance to look for him and in case the police needed to send out a helicopter.
"We wanted to be certain he wasn't in danger, and it was a relief he was OK.
"Considering the numbers of people in the audience there were virtually no problems.
"It really went beautifully."
