Your say: Budget cuts threaten sport
Your say: Budget cuts threaten sport

Feb 9 2012

by Mark Johnson, Crosby Herald

LAST week, we reported severe price increases were threatening amateur sport. The proposal is part of a plan by Sefton Council to slash its budget by £20.5m. This is what you said.

“IT’S sad for people in the area because they will be deterred from taking part in recreation because of these cuts.

“The Government have imposed these cuts and it’s going to make kids and older people lose out.”

Catherine Pownell ,

Crosby

“BY MAKING it more difficult for children to play football, it could lead to more problems on the streets because they might get up to more mischief.

“They will do things that they should not be doing. It’s easy to see that.”

Catherine Fairclough,

Seaforth

”THIS is awful for people in the area.

“Perhaps the Government should have a rethink and cut the allowances that MPs get.

“That would save some of the money that needs to be cut.”

Chloe Rachelle,

Seaforth
