JOSPICE is hosting a classic car event on Bank Holiday Monday.
The organisers are expecting over 70 vintage vehicles at Duke Street Park when Triumphs, Fords, Minis, Lotus and Morgans will descend upon Formby from 11am in the morning.
A Formby owned Midlands built 1923 Harper Bean is also expected to take centre stage at the first ever Wheels4Jospice event.
A number of classic British bikes will also be on show.
The vintage car owners have all promised to make a donation to the Thornton based hospice.
A host of other attractions will also compete for attention including a Brands Hatch Scalextric set and acclaimed screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce is expected to make an appearance.
Bob Harper, Jospice community fundraiser, said: “It will be a great free and fun day out for all the family.”
The charity provides 24-hour in-patient care with particular expertise in caring for long-term, degenerative or disabling conditions, as well as end-of-life care.
Jospice raises all of its funds locally and has reported a marked decrease in contributions since the credit crunch hit the economy year.
The direct cost of caring for a patient at the hospice is around £1,300 per week. Sefton PCT contributes £554.78 per bed.
Cherie Blair is a Jospice vice president and opened an extension last year.
